Job Summary

The Lead Patient Mobility Technician will provide patient transportation and assist nursing with patient handling tasks as requested. Is responsible for supervision of the patient while transporting. Other responsibilities include distributing supplies and equipment, assisting with traction set- up, transporting patient medications with the patient, and responding to other duties as requested. Provides input to supervisor on performance evaluations of Patient Transporters, assists with orientation of new staff members, provides assistance with scheduling and assigning work. Responsible for the operations of the department in the absence of a Supervisor or Director. Directs and coordinates activities of other Patient Transporters within patient care and ancillary support areas of the hospital and reports any problems to the appropriate staff.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred. The ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and ability to apply, organize and oversee multiple tasks/responsibilities required.

Minimum Experience Requirement:

Supervision and computer experience required. Prior experience in a healthcare setting. Leadership skills. Excellent customer service skills required

Minimum License Requirement:

BLS required. AB508 required within 3 months of hire.
