The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective, nursing care to the acute psychiatric patient using the nursing process, accepted standards of psychiatric mental health nursing and the policies and procedures of Emanate Health using individual, group and milieu modalities for the acute population of adults and geriatric patients. Care is provided through a team nursing care delivery system in which the staff nurse may function as lead nurse, medication nurse, intake nurse or assigned RN.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
All (1) newly graduated nurses, (2) re-entry nurses, and (3) nurses new to the U.S. healthcare system must satisfactorily complete the Emanate Health R.N. Residency Program within the first 6 months of employment at Emanate Health. Excellent customer service skills required.
Re-entry psychiatric nurses and psychiatric nurses new to the U.S. healthcare system must satisfactorily complete the Emanate Health R.N. Residency Program within the first 6 months of employment at Emanate Health. Previous psychiatric nursing experience is required with at least one year in psychiatric setting. Excellent customer service skills required.
Minimum License Requirement:
Current RN license in the State of California. Maintains BLS certification.
AB 508, NVP, CPI, BVP, or alternative certification meeting AB 508 Bill requirements required upon hire. MAB required within 30 days of hire or by the next available class. RNC preferred. Los Angeles County LPS designation preferred.
