Job Summary
The Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) serves as a senior clinical leader supporting the Chief Medical Officer in advancing high-quality, efficient, and fiscally responsible care across the health system. This role focuses on reducing insurance denials, enhancing case management and utilization performance, and providing medical direction for the independent physicians group, aligning clinical and financial goals to optimize patient outcomes and operational sustainability. The ACMO will serve as a bridge between clinical excellence and operational performance, ensuring medical decisions, documentation, and workflows support both quality outcomes and financial integrity. The role is pivotal in promoting physician alignment, regulatory compliance, and value-based care delivery across the health system.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement:
Master's degree in hospital or business administration preferred. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with active medical license.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Minimum of 8-10 years of clinical experience with progressive leadership roles. Demonstrated expertise in utilization management, case management, or medical directorship. Strong knowledge of payer policies, CMS regulations, and healthcare finance. Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Experience with data analytics and performance improvement preferred.
Minimum License Requirement:
Clinical Board Certified Physician required.
