Job Summary

The President of Emanate Health’s Medical Care Foundation is a critical role for Emanate Health’s long-term success and continued growth. Reporting to Roger Sharma, President and Chief Executive Officer of Emanate Health, the Medical Care Foundation President will develop the strategy of the Medical Care Foundation as well as create an infrastructure that fosters exceptional quality, financial performance, patient and provider satisfaction, and integration/alignment among all Emanate Health medical practices.

This President is a highly effective, experienced, and inclusive leader who will inspire as well as bring discipline and operational improvement to the organization as it evolves in an ever changing, highly competitive Southern California healthcare market. The successful candidate will share the vision and values of Emanate Health, demonstrate great integrity, and seen by all stakeholders as trustworthy, transparent, and optimistic.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:

Master’s degree in health services (DPHH, MPH, or MHA), business administration (MBA), or medical degree (MD or DO) preferred. FACHE or FACMPE preferred.

Minimum Experience Requirement:

Ten or more (10+) years of senior-level healthcare leadership and medical group management experience with a successful record of accomplishment in supporting the growth and success of medical groups in a contemporary healthcare marketplace. Demonstrated superior organizational and leadership ability. Successful experience in building a collective vision and garnering collaborative support to realize that vision amidst divergent viewpoints and priorities. Prior experience working in a Lean organization and working in an MD dyad partnership preferred. Superior skills in negotiation and leading through influence. Broad knowledge and thorough understanding of forces shaping the medical and healthcare delivery systems in the United States. Demonstrated creativity and entrepreneurial orientation to provide operational leadership and support in the development of new models, new enterprises or joint ventures and affiliations, which will ensure the long-range viability of the Medical Care Foundation. Superior interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with professional and unlicensed staff, all levels of management and Board leadership. Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate operational or strategic problems, make timely decisions and take effective actions to resolve them. Experience leading change management efforts. Demonstrated accomplishment in building high performing, cutting edge organizations. Experience in analyzing and interpreting financial and quality data. Leadership experience in a major, urban, competitive environment is preferred. A record of accomplishment of making difficult decisions and successfully navigating and influencing key stakeholder groups in a matrixed organization. Demonstrated ability to develop an organizational culture, which fosters and supports high performance, continuous learning, innovation, clinical and operational efficiency, and which engages staff and all levels, advances their capabilities and aligns their work with broad organizational goals. Record of accomplishment in information system capabilities and an appreciation for the data, which will be required to make meaningful management decisions and developing operating systems of accountability and control. Outstanding communication skills. Relates well to the diverse range of styles, approaches, and backgrounds of a multigenerational workforce across the enterprise. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated business and financial acumen.
