Job Summary
Responsible for managing the daily operations of Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) department. Assists with the day-to-day CDI concurrent review and query writing process. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams including but not limited to providers, HIM, Performance Improvement, Clinical staff and Ancillary staff to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation that reflects the true clinical picture of the patient. Identifies strategies through data gathering and analysis of trends to establish recommendations for the sustained work process changes that facilitate complete and accurate clinical documentation. Trains and mentors staff.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement:
Medical degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Minimum of five (5) years of clinical documentation integrity specialist experience in an acute care setting required. Three (3) years of experience in leadership/management preferred. Strong knowledge of MS-DRG, APR-DRG, ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines. Experience using encoder and electronic health record systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, ability to multitask and detail oriented. Ability to interact with a wide range of professionals including providers. Promotes teamwork, contributing to positive employee morale. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications preferred.
Minimum License Requirement:
ACDIS Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or AHIMA Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner (CDIP) required.

$62.25 - $91.50
