Job Summary

The Lead Food Services Worker assists with the supervision of staff, department schedules, and coordination of functions for Food Services. They are also responsible for functioning as a Food Services Worker and responsible for the preparation, distribution and service of patient and employee meals. He/she is responsible for the preparation and portioning of salads, desserts, beverages and special patient snacks. The Lead Food Services Worker is responsible for the set up and breakdown of cafeteria food and supplies at each meal and functions as the steamtable server throughout the meal period. Works the meal service by washing dishes and trays and storing them for future use. The Lead Food Services Worker assembles daily nourishment orders and transports them to patient areas as required. The Lead Food Services Worker also maintains and cleans all food preparation equipment used throughout the day and participates in special cleaning projects as assigned. He/she exhibits knowledge of appropriate food handling techniques and general rules of sanitation. The Lead Food Services Worker is responsible for attending appropriate inservice sessions as presented in the department.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:

High School or equivalent preferred.

Minimum Experience Requirement:

Previous hospital food services experience is required. Excellent customer service skills required.

Minimum License Requirement:

Serve Safe Certification preferred. HAACP Preferred. Must be21 yearsofageor older;must have two (2) yearsofcontinuousdriving experiencein thestateof California. Ifa license issuspended, the experience record beginsfromthe timeof licensereinstatement. Musthave no majorconvictions(ie DUI/DWI,hitandrun, driving w/suspended license, recklessdriving,eluding police, open containers, exhibition ofspeed (racing), negligent driving);must haveno more thanone (1) movingcitation in a three(3) yearperiod;musthave no more thanone (1) at- faultaccidentin athree (3) year period. Accidentswill beconsideredat-fault unlessevidenceisprovided (iepolice reportand/or letter frominsurancecompany) showing the incidentasnotat-fault.
