Job Summary
The Pre-Hospital Care Coordinator is responsible for the functions of the Paramedic Base Station and the personnel required to staff the base station. The PCC maintains the performance improvement data for the base station and participates in meetings at the Department of Health and other sites and attends monthly meetings for APCC. The PCC is responsible for ensuring 100% compliance with the Base Hospital Contract, which includes delegation of data entry into the TEMIS. The PCC must be able perform in the role of RN/MICN when the need arises. The PCC assists in administrative activities as directed by the Director of Department. The PCC participates in ride-alongs with assigned ALS units.
Job Requirements
a. Minimum Education Requirement :
High school diploma or equivalent.
b. Minimum Experience Requirement :
Background in education. Meets LA County PCC requirements. Minimum of 5 years of experience as an RN in Emergency Services preferred. Five (5) years of experience as MICN preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate positively and courteously in dealing with patients, patient families, physicians and other staff and public. Meditech experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills required. Pre-hospital care and staff education. Knowledge of TJC, Title XXII. PC literacy.
c. Minimum License Requirement :
CA RN License. Fire Instructor 1A & 1B or Adult Teaching Certificate within 2 years of hire/transfer. BLS, ACLS, PALS required. Management of Assaultive Behavior or equivalent required. MICN required within one year of hire. CEN preferred.
